The Baby Collective: What It Really Means to Document Your Baby's Whole First Year

From bump to first birthday — why Studio Brae limits enrollment to 15 families per year, and what that means for yours.

I started the Baby Collective because I kept watching something happen that broke my heart a little: families would come to me for their newborn session, fall in love with the images, and then — in the blur of that first year — never get around to booking a maternity session they wish they'd had, or a six-month milestone that slipped by, or a first birthday before the cake was all gone. Life moves so fast in that first year. Faster than anyone tells you it will. And I didn't want mamas to reach their baby's first birthday and look back at a year with no pictures.

The Baby Collective is my answer to that. It's a year-long documentation package — limited to just 15 families each year — that captures the full arc of your baby's first chapter: a maternity session, a newborn session, a milestone session (usually sitter or six months), and your baby's first birthday or cake smash. Everything is bundled, pre-planned, and built around your family's specific timeline. You never have to scramble to book, wonder if there's availability, or start from scratch with a new photographer each time. You're mine, from bump to birthday.

What makes the Baby Collective truly different is the intentionality behind it. Because I limit enrollment to 15 families, I can give each one the kind of attention that makes these sessions extraordinary rather than ordinary. I know your bump. I know how your baby looked on day five of life. I know the color of your nursery and the way your toddler looks at their new sibling. By the time we're shooting that first birthday, the images aren't just beautiful — they're a visual story I've been telling alongside you for nearly a year. That continuity is something you simply can't replicate by booking session by session with different photographers.

Enrollment for the Baby Collective opens each year and spots fill quickly — especially among families who are expecting in the spring or summer and want both their maternity and newborn documented. If you're currently pregnant and dreaming about having your whole first year captured without the mental load of planning it yourself, this was built for you. Reach out here to ask about current availability, or visit the Baby Collective page to learn more.
